Young Preschool, Intermediate Preschool, and Pre-K!
Preschool is a time when children come to discover their abilities, socially and intellectually. Jardín Mágico houses Minneapolis's first response to the community's need for a full day bilingual preschool. This is where all of the priorities of our center culminate in a multicultural, vibrant experience of childhood where kids can explore language, culture, literacy, math, and science prior to starting formal school.
- All of our classroom teachers are full time, to create a relationship-based environment where children feel connected and safe, so that they are comfortable to explore, grow and learn.
- Young and Intermediate Preschool Curriculums Include: circle time, reading, self-esteem building activities like show and tell, and an art project every day, as well as sensory, math and science projects throughout each week.
- Pre-kindergarten Curriculums Include: learning to tell time, understanding opposites, grouping, sequencing, left & right, sizes & ordering, opposites, equilibrium practice, days of the week, and writing practice.
- All Preschool Curriculums Include: teaching independence skills (dressing themselves when they go potty, cleaning up after themselves), practicing fine- and gross-motor skills, modeling and practicing conflict resolution, math, science, physical education and early literacy learning.
- There is plenty of time for free play and dramatic play with friends throughout the day, for creativity and self-esteem building.
- All of our classrooms are conducted predominantly in Spanish, fostering mental flexibility, self-esteem and creativity.
- Unique and fresh curriculums are presented new each week in order to keep the kids interested and inspired. This is a breakthrough curriculum that meets all of NAEYC's (National Association for the Education of Young Children) Indicators of Effective Curriculum. It is created on-site to present preschool concepts in both English and Spanish and to introduce the children to a global perspective and to the dynamic community we live in.
